Grama Panchayat

Peruvembu Grama Panchayat is a Grama Panchayat located in the Kollankode block of Palakkad taluk of Palakkad district. This area, which included three areas namely Thannissery, Peruvembu and Palathulli, was included in Palathulli Panchayat before 1956. Both Thannissery and Peruvembu were under the administration of the District Board. Later, in 1956, Peruvembu Panchayat was formed by including Palathulli Panchayat and Peruvembu Thannissery areas, which were under the administration of the District Board. The government issued a notification in this regard. After 1956, two Panchayats, Peruvembu and Palathulli, functioned again until 1961. Actually, Peruvembu Panchayat came into existence in 1962.
